![]() ![]() Now all the prestige system does is show how much time a person has put into the game, and because it is easy to level up in Call of Duty: Warzone, especially with double-XP almost every weekend, it isn't that impressive to see someone at level 1000 near the end of a battle-pass season. Getting a high prestige used to be a challenge, having to unlock everything over and over and gave players something to work towards over the year. The older progression and prestige systems were far more rewarding than the system currently in place in Vanguard and Warzone. If they did, their progression was reset and they would have to unlock all the guns, perks, and killstreaks again. In CoD games prior to 2019, players would instead be given an option to prestige when they hit max level. Black Ops Cold War introduced prestige keys that players earned every 50 levels and could be used to unlock blueprints as well as calling cards from previous games. Currently, in Vanguard, players will prestige at level 55 and then will continue to level up to 1000. One of the most requested changes Call of Duty fans want is a return to the old prestige system that was changed in Modern Warfare. This kept each game feel new while still delivering the same satisfying gunplay that made the series so popular. In the past, each new Call of Duty game felt very different from the previous one, with new features or features exclusive to a series. ![]() Modern Warfare made a lot of big changes to things like progression and attachments, but since then not much has changed in the following games and fans are starting to get bored of each game feeling the same and missing their favorite features from before. Vanguard was developed by Sledgehammer Games and brought the series back to the Second World War, but many have said the game feels more like a re-skin of Modern Warfare only with era-appropriate weaponry. However, Vanguard's release at the end of 2021 has struggled to maintain that same popularity from the previous two years. ![]()
